The desire for marriage...

 ...is not unnatural or lustful but normal.

There be three things which are too wonderful for me,
yea, four which I know not:
The way of an eagle in the air;
the way of a serpent upon a rock;
the way of a ship in the midst of the sea;
and the way of a man with a maid.
Proverbs 30:18,19

That singleness is a curse...

...is repeatedly referred to in the Bible.

And he said, Go. And he sent her away for two months: and she went with her companions, and bewailed her virginity upon the mountains.
 Judges 11:38

For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
Jeremiah 16:9

Now if Solomon himself, husband to at least 600 wives and 300 concubines, knew not 'the way of a man with a maid' then how can you or I pretend to know a man's intentions or his innermost motivations with a woman.

 Now if the Lord considers the ceasing of 'the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride' to be a curse then how can we pretend that such a state is natural or even to claim that it is a gift! It is a curse as the Lord has stated in these verses.
